Pump House at 24 Station Road reinvigorates a prominent corner plot in the heart of South Norwood by creating 14 new homes two minutes’ walk from Norwood Junction Station, completed in 2020. The site had previously been used as a surface level car park and had been vacant for nearly 30 years.

The design references the Art Deco Odeon Building that once stood next door, it brings some confidence back to the Victorian High Street within the South Norwood Conservation Area.

Completed in 2020, the homes sold out in their opening weekend. The homes are all dual or triple aspect, the massing cleverly makes use of the predominately north-east facing site.

“New buildings tend to lack character; I liked that Pump House had character from the outside to the inside.”
